Whole Body Pelvic Health
Whole body pelvic health works on the premise that the whole body is an entire integrated system, rather than a series of individual parts. Everything we do plays a part in how the tensegrity balance in our body is maintained, from how we breath, to our posture and how we move. Often due to injury, or surgery or working postural habits the body’s elastic tension becomes imbalanced, sometimes with a build-up of scar tissue. Kegels exercises focus on strengthening a pre-supposed weak and isolated part of the body, the pelvic floor muscles, rather than looking at the balance in the body system.
Whole body pelvic health works with the entire body, using props to provide feedback and sensation to help stimulate breathing and release. Gentle movements stimulate release, with time and patience and continued practice, the body will find an increasing range of movement and internal strength working towards a balanced, dynamic, flexible whole body system.
